Honest character and chiselled good looks were hallmarks of many of the early Elmo designs that populated Italian offices and classrooms of the 1920s. Archive designs provide the blueprint for a silhouette that minimises its use of metal componentry without sacrificing decorative flair. A debonair, fluted brass clip is a reminder that great design is timeless.

The Ducale brand appears for the first time in the 1930s to mark the high-end pens of the Elmo line. The name drew inspiration from the famous Doge’s Palace, one of the symbols of the city of Venice. Today, the collection origins are added a new prestigious connotation – Murano – as the antique glassmaking tradition. The new Ducale Murano collection consists of a fountain pen, a ballpoint and a rollerball, offered in the delicious pearlised sea shades ofthe resin with palladium trim.
